Notes of interest from the league sheet results after last Sunday (which you can also see posted on the youth bulletin board at Granada) are below by division. There are three places listed for the season end awards to date (not final yet). Be aware that the rules state that a bowler can not win more than one individual award, except for most improved.To be eligible for an award, a bowler must bowl at least 2/3 of games within their division. A bowler quitting or disqualified will forfeit the right to any awards.
 
Juniors
Granada is in first place with 159 points. They will be bowling on lane 5 at Manteca Bowl. The second place team, whom they are competing with has 146.5 points.

The Classic and Major Classic teams will NOT be using the splitting format this year. We will be using an alternating format instead. This means the first month, the new bowlers (Shawn, Phillip and Vincent) will be sitting out. After the first meet, the bowlers on those teams with the Lowest Ave for that meet will sit out the next meet. We look at it as an incentive for everybody to do their best. We feel that this format will be better than having the parents drive all the way to Atwater for example, to watch their kid bowl only two games.

Also we will not be doing team scoring this year. This became quite an issue last year. We only did to help the coaches see where the kids were having trouble, but we will work around that.

Each team will have a coach. Maria Lockridge for the Junior Classic, Tim Piper for Classic 1, Ricky Chin for classic 2, and David Bunch for Major classic. Maria will serve as Head Coach this year, with managing duties being given to Nick Rose and Corey Nelson.

Hosting:

Granada is hosting October 14, 2008. We will need Volunteers for the raffle and bake sale. Sign up with Corey.
