This weekend, Katey Nelson, Kevin, Duguid, Casey Albert, and Clarence White III played in the 2006 Youth State Bowling tournament in San Diego. They also participated in the side tournament (Masters for the boys, Princess for Katey). We all had a great time in San Diego and the tournament results were the topper!

The team took 1st place that was listed at the time by 350 pins! They are 150 above the top scratch team even. The tournament ends Aug 6, so keep your fingers crossed for our players!

Aside from the tournament, I took "my three" to their desired side trips which included: mall, city beach, Knott's Berry Farm, and Medieval Times (http://www.medievaltimes.com) which was Kevin and Casey's first time.

A huge thanks to Clarence and his family for continuing to be an important part of our state team! Even though he's super busy with other bowling events, his family makes this annual event so fun for us! This last week, Clarence was bowled 30 games in Jr. Gold in Florida (placed 82nd out of 1,500 bowlers!). The family got into San Diego at 6:30am Sat after flying in from Florida to Oakland and then driving down to our hotel. WHAT TROOPERS!

Please share your thoughts with them when you see them. I am very proud of their accomplishments and their positive and fun attitude while they compete.

Friday, Dec 23 - Dinner in Modesto with my brother David and his family, including wife Hope, their kids Cody, Cortney, and Jessica. Also there were new family members, Bobbie (Jessica's new husband) and their 2.5 week old baby, Haley. We missed Doug and his son Jacob, but hope to see them in the next week or two.

Saturday, Dec 24 - In Weaverville with my mom, Julie, my sister Cathy and her kids Anjela and Jon. We took Cathy and the kids to see "King Kong". We love that film and the Weaverville (total population of 3,000) is such a cute place! The owner, Ken, comes out and talks about the film ahead of time. He really makes it a special small-town experience and we like that.

Monday, Dec 26 - Dinner for David's family at our house. His parents, Mary and Bob, sister Debbie (and her husband Jim, their kids Maggie, Edy, Eddie, Melanie, and foreign exchange student Ola; their daughter Missy couldn't come due to work like Paul). Also there was his brother Steve with his wife Genie, their kids Seth and Thane, as well as Genie's parents Pat and Don.

Sunday, Jan 1 - My sister Collette and her family is due to visit us. She will have at least her husband Chris, their daughter Dawn (age 5 almost), her son Brian, and I believe Chris' son Andrew. His son Alan is in Iraq still. Brian was there for a while.
